Snow operators need an accurate total most on the days they did not plan for, and we want anyone to be able to get one in a pinch without a contract or a credit card. Weather Decision Solutions already runs the WDS unified snow model every day for its business clients, so a few extra reports cost us little. Every verified email gets three free reports. After that, reports and location passes are paid, and operators who need reports after every storm get them automatically with a Weather Decision Solutions business membership. That is how we keep the service running.

Request a report with the street address and the dates of the storm. You verify your email with a six-digit code and pick the days of the storm, up to three days. Two PDFs arrive by email. The Verified Report gives the total for the window, and the Full Report adds the daily record at the official station, the nearby observers and a map.

Yes. Enter a 5-digit ZIP code and the report is calculated for the center of that ZIP code; a Canadian postal code is calculated at that postal code. For a specific property, enter the street address instead, since snowfall can change over a few miles with elevation and terrain.

Yes, for any storm in the last ten years, anywhere in the lower 48 states or southern Canada. One report covers one storm, with a window of up to three days, and the window must end at least two days ago, because the observer networks we read finish filing about two days after a storm.

Each verified email gets three free reports over its lifetime. Spend them however you like, on three different places or on three storms at one address. Asking again for the exact same place and dates does not use another one, and you get the report you already have.

Every report you already have stays on your reports page. Request the next one as usual and choose how to pay at the last step: $39 for that report, or a location pass that covers a ZIP code for a year ($149 for one ZIP code, $349 for five, $749 for 15). Every report is produced by the WDS unified snow model and then run through automated quality checks that compare the estimate with nearby measurements and the official record. If a check flags anything, a meteorologist reviews the report before it goes to you.

In several studies comparing our snow totals with other weather services, ours came out on top. In testing at locations the model had never seen, its storm totals landed within about half an inch of what trained observers measured, on average. Every report shows the measurements behind the estimate.

When you enter a street address, the report is calculated for that spot, including its elevation. If you enter only a ZIP code, it is calculated for the center of that ZIP code.

Yes, that is what it is built for. The report documents the measurements, the sources, and the method. Whether a carrier, a contractor, or a court accepts any document is their call, and the report gives them what they need to evaluate it. A few rural areas sit far from a validated measurement station. Rather than hand you a shaky number, we hold the request, work on coverage for that area, and email your report when it is ready. The request page tells you up front when that applies.
