A property manager may remember two inches while your crew remembers a long night on the lot. The report gives the verified snowfall total for the storm window at that address, and the airport stations and trained volunteer observers nearest the site. Attach the Verified Report to the invoice, and send the Full Report when your customer wants the details.

Your customer can read the same sources you did. Each report lists the stations and observers behind the estimate.

Check per-push and trigger-depth contracts

Many seasonal contracts pay per push, per event, or once snowfall passes a trigger depth such as two inches. Request one report per storm, or a single day for a one-day event, and you and your customer can compare the verified total with the contract terms. Pair it with your own service logs for timing within a day.

Answer a slip-and-fall claim

Slip-and-fall claims often arrive long after the storm, when nobody remembers the details. A report for the property address documents the snowfall in the days around the incident, with the sources printed on it. You can request any storm from the last ten years. Keep the report with your service records, which show when crews plowed, salted and cleared the walks.

What the report shows

Each report comes as two PDFs. The Verified Report is a short summary with the storm total. The Full Report adds the daily record at the official station, the nearby observers and a map. Together they include these details.

• The street address or ZIP code and the storm window you picked.
• A verified snowfall total for the full window.
• The daily record at the nearest official station.
• The official stations and trained observers that informed the estimate, with a map.

Every report is calculated for the address you enter, including its elevation, from what official weather stations and trained volunteer observers measured near the site. The methodology page explains how the totals are calculated.

Limits to keep in mind

• Each verified email gets three free reports, used on any mix of sites and storms. Asking again for the same address and dates does not use another one.
• Coverage is limited to the continental US.
• One report covers one storm, with a window of up to three days that ends at least two days ago.
• A ZIP code on its own gives a total for the center of the ZIP code. Enter the street address for a specific lot.
• Each report covers one storm. You request each one; reports for every site after every storm come with a WDS Business membership.

Reports for the sites you service every winter

After the free reports, a single report is $29. For sites you service every year, a location pass covers a ZIP code for 12 months: every address in it, any storm from the last ten years and the storms of the coming winter. Passes cover one ZIP code for $149, five for $349, or 15 for $749, and do not renew on their own. Compare the options on the pricing page.
